Bio Data
Gabriela Barra
Arellano is a university student of fourth year of the career of Anthropology
in the University of Chile, ready to be licensed in the social area. Since she
entered to study, in the year 2017, she showed interest about gender and body
themes and like this factors mold people in society. For this reason in the
second study year, with next to the paradigm shift brought by the new feminist
wave, she began to experience that dance that she loves to practice from the
corporality that guides you towards self-knowledge and reflection. Thus, under these
ideas she began to see that dance and its corporality could generate a good
focus in anthropology for be one of the most ancestral practices that have
addressed the human and demonstrated its essence. In the third year of studies she
tried to flirt more to the branches that would serve her more for that vision
and was assistant ethnohistory and ethnography. Already in the present year
Gabriela has taken several gender courses. Regrettably the anthropology
department of her university does not have specialized areas in the
anthropology of body. Due to this
impediment, she has been forced to investigate elsewhere both internal and
external to the university. Actually is working for his future thesis on the
role of the corporality of women in classical dance with the help of the Municipal
theater of Santiago.
